Well, it seems ages ago that I pledged to go "No Screen Sunday" and I have not even got near doing it. So, I need to get started. I promise to do my first one on Sunday 1st June 2014. And, I will let you know exactly how and if I managed.
I have to set it a couple of weeks away as I have just got my new HP Chromebook and I'm sort of in love with it.
Wish me luck!

Here's the plan.
What is No Screen Sunday?
Well, I got the idea after signing up for National Day Of Unplugging after joining a Hangout in Google+.
Every weekend my nephew spends with me he's either wanting to play on his game console, use his netbook or tablet and watch videos on Netflix and You Tube. He's 10 years old and is rapidly losing the art of conversing.
I already switch my mobile off after 6pm each day and do not carry my phone around at work. And, I get annoyed at how people around me seem stuck to their "screens". They're everywhere. In queues at the shops and banks, at the bus stop and on the bus. Everywhere.
How about setting at least 1 day a week where you become invisible to technology which has a screen. Take your kids for a bike ride or a walk. Chat to each other. Yes, a verbal conversation face to face. Play cards or boardgames. Eat your meal without the electronic beeps. Does that sound novel?
I thought of Sunday as that's the day in the UK and other places around the world which was traditionally a day of rest, but feel free to choose your own day if you like the idea.
I am looking forward to starting this next weekend. So, from 12:00am to 11:59pm on Sunday, I'll get back to how life used to be 20 years or so ago. I might even increase the amount of days I go "Screen Free".
Any comments and suggestions are gratefully accepted. Let me know if you're going to give it a go and how you cope.
